A Thought to Ponder
If you were given only ONE car that must last your entire lifetime or a car that only had to last for 1 year, would you care for them differently? Your answer is likely, "Yes, completely different!". Your lifetime car has so many parts to care for. You must consider that rubber wears down or cracks; metal dents and rusts; the interior stains and tears; what if the wrong fluids were used? What would you do to ensure everything lasts for decades without replacing a single part? Many of these notions would be overlooked for a car driven for only 1 year.
Now let's apply the same concept to the human body. Many people only think about their bodies in the moment (i.e., picking up fast food) or at maximum 1 year out (i.e., getting in shape for a wedding or reunion). Being passive like this can lead to serious health concerns and can diminish your quality of life. Begin to view your body as your lifetime car which requires intentional daily care and regularly scheduled maintenance. Take a moment to assess your body and how you currently treat it.
What can you do differently?
