Drop-In Classes

Balance & Brains™   1 hour

Designed for the unique needs of older adults who desire to remain active and value being  agile and mentally sharp. Exercises are aimed to:

  • Strengthen the entire body, including the core

  • Improve balance

  • Reduce the risk of falling during activities of daily living

  • Improve memory, reasoning, and problem solving skills

Mobility and Balance   1 hour

Strength, balance and physical endurance are sure to improve with this class.  Class components include exercises to: prevent falls; build strength to remain independent;  improve flexibility, posture, and core stability.  You are an ideal candidate for this class if you:

  • notice daily activities/routine becoming challenging

  • are unable to stand for up to 30 minutes

  • are unable to get down to the floor and back up

Core and Pelvic Floor   1 hour

Designed for both men and women in mind, this class will help strengthen your abdominals, lower back and pelvic floor muscles. Men and women are at risk of weak pelvic floor muscles and this class aims to improve. Benefits of a strong pelvic floor include:

  • Improved

    • balance and core strength

    • bladder and bowel control

    • sexual health

    • confidence and quality of life

    • surgery recovery: prostate (men);  gynecological (women)

  • Reduced risk of prolapse: rectal (both);  vaginal prolapse (women)

Strength Training   1 hour

Designed for individuals who are new to exercising, have not exercised for an extended period of time, and the experienced lifter. This class focuses on strength training to build muscle for the entire body. A great class to:

  • Learn proper form

  • Work on improving flexibility 

  • Gain knowledge and strength to enhance participation in other classes

Circuit Training   1 hour

Moving in a fast pace from exercise to exercise, you complete a full circuit. Classes can be all strength training or a combination of strength and cardiovascular training. With so many possible options, this class:

  • Builds physical endurance

  • Increases your metabolism

  • Maximizes your time and energy

Interval Training   1 hour

Alternating between high and low bursts of energy, this class is a good way to improve your cardiovascular health.  This class aims to:

  • Rev up your metabolism

  • Improve your aerobic capacity so other activities won't feel as tiring

  • Prevent your body from falling into a plateau

Aquacise   1 hour

An alternative to land based classes. Using the water's natural buoyancy and resistance, this class is designed with joint disordered individuals in mind. Exercises are aimed to:

  • Allow individuals with sore joints the opportunity to feel less pained during exercise

  • Strengthen the entire body

  • Provide cardiovascular exercise
